Description of the maternity ward survey

The Elfe maternity survey corresponds to the recruitment phase and the first data collection at birth of Elfe children. It took place over 4 waves in 2011 and included 18.319 children born at at least 33 weeks’ amenorrhea, including 288 pairs of twins.

The various phases of the survey included:
an interview with the mother in the days following delivery, during which the parents’ consent and contact details were collected, and a face-to-face questionnaire was carried out;
a self-administered questionnaire given to the mother at the interview, and collected before the mother’s discharge from the hospital;
a statement of the mother’s and child’s medical records, including in the event of the child’s transfer to another department or facility.

In addition to the variables collected on the various questionnaires, a calculated variable is also provided:
poids0 which corresponds to the weighting calculated to take into account the sample design and non-response.
